The Ultimate Breakfast Smoothie

If I’m ever in a rush in the morning (which is always) this is my go-to smoothie to get my breakfast made fast and without skipping on any of the good bits. An adaptation of the well-known green monster smoothies this mix can also be used to soak your oats if you prefer to eat your brekkie out of a bowl with a spoon: Just add the blended mix of banana, spinach and almond milk as your soaking material and any of the other extras in as toppings.

The Ultimate Breakfast Smoothie

  • 1/2 – 1 cup almond milk (depending on how thick you want it to be)
  • 1 mushy banana
  • 1 handful of kale/spinach
  • 1 handful of almonds
  • 1 handful of blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon of chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup cooked/soaked oats*
  • 1 scoop of MyoPure whey protein concentrate
  • a few cubes of ice

Put all ingredients, in order listed, into your Blendtec and select the smoothie cycle.

*we tested this with dry rolled oats, ground oats, cooked oats and soaked oats and found the last two worked the best in terms of flavor and texture but made the smoothie much more filling. Ground oats made it a little coarse, so if you want a lighter version you can just add dry rolled oats straight from the packet. Of course if you’re limiting your carbs you can also just leave the oats out completely.
